There was a time when I felt like I was losing my mind. My heart was shattered, and I wanted to walk away from everything and everyone. The weight of my emotions was unbearable, and all I wanted was to escape—to stop feeling altogether. But deep down, I knew the only way I would survive was by depending solely on the Lord. I knew only God could restore me. Only He could mend my brokenness.
A Broken and Contrite Heart
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” — Psalm 51:17
So, I began to pray. I sought His face like never before. I fasted. I shut out the world—months without social media, months spent in His presence, reading His Word, and listening to worship music. I surrendered my life completely to God.
A Legacy of Faith
My father was a man who loved God with his whole heart. No matter what he endured, he never lost hope. He faced challenges, yet he persevered. His life was a testament to unwavering faith—keeping his mind on God through it all.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” — Isaiah 26:3
Seeing his example, I realized that even in the midst of trials, we are called to honor, trust, and worship God. Because even when everything around us feels like it’s falling apart, He is still sovereign. He is still the deliverer.
Seeking God’s Face and Receiving My Deliverance
“This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.” — Psalm 24:6
From February to July, I pressed into God like never before. I sought Him relentlessly. And then, one day, my breakthrough came. Jesus lifted every burden, broke every chain, and delivered me completely.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13
It is the anointing that destroys the yoke.
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” — Isaiah 10:27
I know without a doubt that when I called on the name of Jesus—the name that is above every name—the enemy had to flee. Every stronghold, every lie, every attack of the enemy was shattered in His presence.
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” — Philippians 2:9-10
The Lord is My Help
I stand here today boldly proclaiming that the Lord is my help.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;” — Psalm 46:1-2
He is my refuge, my healer, and my restorer. If you are feeling broken, lost, or weighed down by life’s struggles, know that you don’t have to carry it alone. Run to Jesus. Seek His face. Surrender it all to Him.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28-30
He is the only one who can change your circumstances, but more importantly, He is the only one who can change you.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
If He did it for me, He will do it for you.
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” — Hebrews 13:8
Keep Trusting. Keep Praising. Keep Believing. Deliverance is Coming.
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” — Psalm 34:19
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” — Revelation 12:11
“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” — Isaiah 58:6
“And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” — Luke 19:9-10
“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
“God is within her, she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.” — Psalm 46:5
Deliverance is coming. Keep pressing in. Keep seeking Him. He is faithful.
